Pact, the UK screen sector trade body representing independent producers and distributors has launched MADE, a series of short interview films featuring some of the UK’s most successful independent producers of the past 30 years, as part of its 30th anniversary celebrations.
The series has been filmed and produced by Middlesbrough-based Wander Films and aims to inspire a new generation of creative entrepreneurs. The Wander team travelled around the UK to interview some of the screen sector’s top indie leaders.
Chloë Clover, CEO of Wander Films, said: “We were stoked to be able to speak to incredible individuals that have these amazing stories and have achieved so much in the world of TV and film. To capture the things they’ve done, but also get a feel for their journey from day dot to now. It’s about inspiring that next generation of indie and we just so happen to be that next generation of indie. So for Pact to have championed us and believed in us, that’s really special.”
Pact CEO John McVay, said: “Pact is delighted with the short interview series produced by Wander for Pact’s 30th anniversary. The brief for the series was to inspire a new generation of independent TV leaders. To achieve this, we found an inspirational company – Wander – to produce them for us.”
Among the many names of note included in the seroes are Quay Street Productions’ Nicola Shindler, the producer of Nolly and It’s A Sin, and Mark Herbert of Warp Films, which grew out of the cult Sheffield record label Warp, and features a diverse range of collaborators from Chris Morris through Shane Meadows to Aphex Twin.
The full series of MADE is now available to watch through the Pact website.
