The BBC has announced a host of new shows that will be put out to competitive tender.
Fake or Fortune, This Farming Life, Rip Off Britain and CBeebies Specials are the next titles which will be available to independent producers as part of the broadcaster’s Compete or Compare strategy.
This was launched in 2014, following the signing of the new Charter Agreement, with the aim to open up more of the BBC’s returning television programmes to competition.

“These are four brilliant shows, driven by public-service values and which help to support production and skills across the UK. We are opening them to competition as part of our commitment to delivering the very best value for audiences,” said David Pembrey, Chief Operating Officer, BBC Content.
The invitation to tender is set to be published in the coming weeks.
The BBC will retain all rights for the shows.
