CBBC has picked up the UK rights to live-action teen series Holly Hobbie from US distributor Cloudco Entertainment.
The series is a revival of the classic American character first introduced in 1967, centring on 13-year-old Holly, played by Ruby Jay, who saves her grandmother’s café by starting an open mic night and performing original songs.
It had debuted exclusively on US channel Hulu last year, followed by Canada’s Family Channel, and will now make its UK debut next summer.
Holly Hobbie is produced by Aircraft Pictures (The Breadwinner, Bruno & Boots: This Can’t Be Happening at Macdonald Hall) in association with Cloudco Entertainment and Wexworks Media (D.N.Ace, Paw Patrol).
