Two high-profile northern music festivals have appointed Media City’s Carousel PR to boost their appeal.
The Liverpool International Music Festival which takes place in the summer and the Ribble Valley regular Beat-Herder become part of Carousel’s portfolio of festivals.
MD Gawen Higgins said the outfit loved working on festival accounts:
“It’s great to be working on these two high-profile festivals. My background is music and live events and music is very much in the Carousel DNA – our plan was always to build a music and festival division.”
It is the second year the Liverpool event – created last year after the cancellation of the city’s Mathew Street Festival – has been held.
This year, the organisers say they are taking the event one-step further, promising big names, local talent, up-and-coming artists and never-before-seen collaborations.
Curator of the festival, Yaw Owusu recently told the Liverpool Echo more about what was coming up: “Last year was our chance to launch the first ever Liverpool Music Festival. This year, it’s all about making a statement and establishing the event as the leading UK festival for global music.”
The two-week Liverpool International Music Festival event launches in May and will take place in August while the ninth annual Beat-Herder, with acts confirmed including 2 Many DJs, Happy Mondays and Jagwa Ma, takes place from 18-20 July.
Carousel PR already handles PR campaigns for Festival No6 in Portmeirion, Wales, Liverpool Biennial, Sound City and Lollibop, the UK’s biggest childrens’ festival.
