Carousel appoints to newly created director of strategy post

Carousel has appointed Tom Cummings to the newly created position of director of strategy.

Cummings will lead on and develop areas of client, agency, and new business strategy, as well as oversee key accounts including Moda Living, MediaCity UK, and We Invented the Weekend Festival.

Cummings brings 16 years of international PR and integrated client services experience to Carousel, having held senior roles across the UK and APAC regions. He’s run integrated press offices and general marketing accounts for a range of leading brands, including McDonald’s, Virgin Mobile, Krispy Kreme, British Airways and Aldi.

Gawen Higgins, managing director at Carousel, said: “As we become more embedded in our clients’ businesses and marketing programmes the need for more strategic thinking continues to grow. Tom brings a different type of expertise to the mix that is already delivering impact and results for us.”

As part of the agency’s ongoing expansion, other recent hires have included Alycia Arbuthnot from iProspect as social media account manager, and Anna Georgieva who joins from Democracy PR as account manager.

Carousel continues to boast a strong cross-sector client mix across its PR and digital teams, including Selfridges, MGA Entertainment, Camp Bestival, Victorious Festival, IHG Hotels and Cotton Traders.
