Carat Leeds has used a huge 46 ft projection over the entrance of the city’s Victoria Quarter as part of an engagement campaign for the “Light Night Leeds” festival.
The aim of last week’s campaign was to increase footfall to the Hammerson Victoria centre with a “Your Face in Lights” theme. The projection showed images of content captured via social media and included calls to action encouraging further submissions and engagements using the hashtag #VictoriaZone.
Oliver Ratcliffe, Social Media Manager at Carat, said: “To support Light Night, Victoria wanted to give the people of Leeds the chance to truly engage with the event. With this in mind, we decided to build the campaign around the community, giving them the chance to get their faces up in lights, as well as see the Fantastic Planets installations within the Victoria Zone.”
There was also a Facebook Live stream, allowing users to watch the projection and submit their images from home.
Jo Coburn, Victoria Leeds general manager said: “The scale of the piece and the marvel that these humanoids inspire is magical. We are over the moon that we can host this piece here at Victoria Leeds, bringing something completely different and enchanting to our customers.
