Singer-songwriter Nick Cope, formerly of the band The Candyskins, will be presenting a new show from his ‘quirky caravan’ on CBeebies.
Each 15 x 5min episode of Popcast will see Cope take inspiration from “The Popcasters”, a team of young children, and Norman the Whippet.
He sits down to write an original song and when the tune is ready, it’s time to power up the Popcast machine and bring the music to life.
Cheryl Taylor, Head of Content at BBC Children’s, said: “We’re delighted to have Nick join the CBeebies team to provide us with his quirky and truly original songs for families to enjoy together. Along with stunning visuals and fun filled animation this has all the hallmarks of a pre-school hit!”
Nick Cope’s Popcast will be available as a boxset on BBC iPlayer from Friday 24 April and will be air on the CBeebies channel every Saturday morning at 9.20am from Saturday 25 April.
