Canada Goose marketing chief joins Rise at Seven as managing partner

Rise at Seven has appointed former Canada Goose marketing chief Phil Clark as group managing partner, working alongside Karl Loudon, global MD, and Carrie Rose, founder and CEO.

Clark will take the lead on all things performance and craft in the agency, situated out of the London office and sitting on the board.

Prior to his stint as senior global director of digital marketing and media at clothing brand Canada Goose, Clark, who began his career in the music industry at talent agency SEG Music, was business director at Reprise, now Kinesso, where he worked with Rise at Seven’s Loudon. Loudon served as managing partner of the enterprise division.

The duo have now joined forces again at the five-year-old, Sheffield HQ’d agency, which also offices in Manchester and New York, and a client list including SIXT, Ninja, Bumble and Capital One and is rapidly approaching the £10m revenue mark.

The agency has also recently launched into paid media, with clients including InSinkErator, Beauty Pie, Tandem Bank, Pooky and more.

Clark will manage end-to-end delivery and performance of the overall PESO (Paid, Earned, Shared, Owned) proposition at Rise at Seven Group. This is a senior leadership position on the board of the agency to lead all craft teams and client performance across organic and paid channels including social (paid & organic), SEO & content marketing, PR, data, creative/brand, and strategy teams.

Clark said: “The industry has reached a critical point in the need for content marketing that resonates across the digital landscape. Paid, owned, and earned media will not connect with audiences in isolation. Rise are experts in delivering customer centricity, grounded in search, and executed via best in class multi-channel content strategies. I’m incredibly excited to bring my integrated marketing experience to the team and help deliver unrivalled growth to our clients.”

Carrie Rose, founder and CEO at Rise at Seven added: “Rise at Seven is fast on its way to leading the category for search and social, driving demand and discovery for industry leading brands so when I had the opportunity to hire one of the industry’s most talented digital marketers, Phil Clark, to help bring my vision to life and I took it.

“Not only has he had experience working with Karl Loudon, our MD, and Laura Smales, our client services director, also from Reprise, but our connected view of the marketing world excites me for what’s to come. As I prioritise growth in the U.S. market, new product launches and mergers and acquisitions, I am proud to have appointed Phil as managing partner to lead all craft directors across the media mix. [He] embodies our values, shares the same enthusiasm I do for the work we are doing, and a love for the craft coming out of this business.”
