Daniel Black has been named as National World’s new Digital Sports Editor in the North West.
It’s a promotion for Black, who’s covered Burnley FC for the Burnley Express for over a decade.
“Having the opportunity to follow the Clarets up and down the country – reporting on play-off triumphs, titles, successive seasons in the PL and, of course, Europe – has been a dream come true for me,” he wrote in a statement on Twitter.
“I’ve met some incredible people along the way, learned from some of the best in the industry, experienced some unforgettable moments, and it’s a part of my life that I’ll always treasure.”
Burnley Express will remain part of his wider remit, which now includes Lancashire Post, Blackpool Gazette and Wigan Today.
“I’ll still have the chance to get over to the Turf every now and then but, for the most part, I’ll be tucked away in an office, supporting a team of extremely talented journalists,” he added.
“I am very fortunate to be taking on this new challenge with some really great people around me and I can’t wait to get started.”
