Hard Talk’s Stephen Sackur will be presenting a new online economic series, produced by Made in Manchester.
Commissioned by the University of Manchester, they will scrutinise the BRIC economies. In total 5 interviews will be released over the next few weeks, followed by a feature length documentary.
The programmes are being made to mark the completion of the University’s Rising Power and Interdependent Futures Project.
“Working with Stephen Sackur is always exhilarating. His knowledge of international affairs is amazing. Combining that with the expertise of the University’s Global Development Institute makes the work doubly exciting,” said MIM creative director, Ashley Byrne.
“This is the first of a whole host of new original online projects we are lining up this year and we’ll be announcing something very big shortly.”
The term, BRIC was coined by economist Lord Jim O’Neill, who’s now an honorary professor at the University and he will be the subject of the first episode.
The programmes are produced by Freddy Chick and Ashley Byrne and edited by James Brown.
