Gary Neville is to appear as a guest dragon on the BBC TV series Dragons’ Den.
The corporation has confirmed the Manchester United legend’s move from punditry to panellist on the reality business show in a guest capacity for a series to be broadcast next year.
Filming is currently taking place in Manchester with Neville, 48, and fashion mogul Emma Grede among the guest Dragons who will join regulars Peter Jones, Deborah Meaden, Touker Suleyman, Sara Davies and Steven Bartlett.
Neville said: “I am excited to join the Dragons, and to meet the entrepreneurs brave enough to face us in the Den.
“I hope my personal journey shows that you can take the experiences you’ve had in one part of your career and use them to do something entirely different and make it a success.
“Business is all about managing people and managing yourself and I’m looking forward to sharing my experience to help the entrepreneurs we’ll meet in the Den reach their potential.”
Neville is no stranger to the world of business – he co-owns Hotel Football in Manchester alongside fellow United stars Nicky Butt, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and brother Phil Neville. In 2014 he also bought into Salford City FC with the same set of players, who were joined by David Beckham in 2019. Neville also served as CEO until he stood down last November due to growing work commitments outside the club.
He also remains a significant shareholder in production house Buzz16, despite having sold his majority shareholding earlier this year, and his company Relentless is fronting the £120m St Michael’s redevelopment of mixed-use space in Jackson’s Row, Manchester.
