Paul Salt is to replace Tony Snell as host of BBC Radio Merseyside’s breakfast show.

‘Snelly’ Snell, who leaves the show after 14 years, is however staying with the station and moving to a daytime slot on Mondays to Thursdays.

Salt has been at the station since 2012 having previously worked on Radio City’s breakfast show alongside Kev Seed, as well as Century FM.

Salt tweeted that he was “very honoured” to take over the role.
