Fleur East, Greg Burns and James Barr are to front a new Manchester-based breakfast show on Hits Radio.
They’ll replace Gemma Atkinson, Gethin Jones and Dave Vitty, who announced last month they would be stepping down after less than a year.
The new national show – which will broadcast both nationally on Hits Radio and locally on Hits Radio Manchester – is set to launch on Friday 12th July.
It’s aimed at a family-focused audience of 25-44 year olds led by singer and TV personality East, award-winning comedian and presenter Burns (Heart, Capital FM, Virgin Radio) and MTV presenter and comedian Barr, who co-hosts a leading LGBTQ+ podcast.
Simon Kilby, chief revenue officer at Bauer Media, said: “The refreshed Hits Radio Breakfast Show is launching with a trio of really exciting talent who will be both relevant and engaging to our family-orientated audience. This investment in audience growth, together with our programming expertise offers commercial partners access to a valuable audience at scale in a simple proposition.”
Sarah Jane Crawford was recently appointed to present afternoons on the station, in addition to hosting The UK Chart Show every Sunday. Jordan Lee has been signed up as evening host, while Gemma Atkinson and Wes Butters are set to launch a new drivetime show next year once Atkinson returns from maternity leave.
Hits Radio can be heard on DAB digital radio across the UK and on FM in Manchester.
