Production has started on the final series of Sky’s hit comedy, Brassic.
The North West based series has been a huge success for Sky, receiving critical acclaim, numerous awards and breaking viewing records for the broadcaster.
Produced by Calamity Films, the seventh outing will air this year on Sky and NOW, with plans to wrap up the story in an “unforgettable ‘Brassic style’.”
“Since Brassic arrived on our screens in 2019, it has become Sky’s most successful comedy ever,” said a Sky spokesperson.
“Fans very quickly became attached to this dynamic group of friends, as they found unconventional ways to win at life in northern suburbia. We would like to thank Joe Gilgun, Danny Brocklehurst and the whole cast and crew – past and present – for bringing us all a truly iconic series, which we’ve loved for its special mix of hilarity and heart.”
Joe Gilgun (Vinnie) will be joined in the new series by returning cast Ryan Sampson (Tommo), Michelle Keegan (Erin), Aaron Heffernan (Ashley), Parth Thakerar (JJ), Joanna Higson (Sugar) and Steve Evets (Jim).
“When Joe Gilgun and I sat down to create Brassic, we couldn’t have imagined, in our wildest dreams, that we would do seven series and gather such a loyal and loving fan base,” explained Danny Brocklehurst, co-creator & writer.
“It’s been a complete joy to create this eccentric world, but all good things must come to an end, and we want to stop while we are still riding high. Maybe they can finally give us that BAFTA!”
The first series was BAFTA-nominated, even if it didn’t win, but it has picked up RTS Awards.

Brassic is produced by Calamity Films. The series is created by Danny Brocklehurst and Joe Gilgun and written by Danny Brocklehurst.
