Manchester-based Blakeway North has won an Emmy award in Cannes for the CBBC film ‘My Life – Born to Vlog’ featuring Nikki Lilly.

The Kids Emmy is the latest accolade for the film, which has also won The Prix Jeunesse Award, The Japan Prize and an RTS award.

Lilly and her parents attended the event at the Carlton Hotel in Cannes along with producer/director Launa Kennett, production executive Alison Lewis and MD/ executive producer Sarah Murch.

“We are totally delighted Nikki Lilly’s story has resonated so powerfully internationally- and we are all very proud of her and our film,” Murch said.

The programme follows 12-year-old Lilly, who has to fly to the United States every other month for complex surgery for Arteriovenous Malformation.

Shot over six months, it mixes ob-doc style filming, with her own video diaries and vlogs.

After the show, Lilly worked with Blakeway on ‘Nikki Lilly Meets’, a 20-part series where she interviews everyone from the Prime minister to Nicole Scherzinger.
