BBC to air TeamGB’s Olympics homecoming

More details have been announced about Team GB’s homecoming celebrations at the AO Arena in Manchester.

Hosted by Emma Willis and Vernon Kay, Team GB’s Homecoming by The National Lottery, will feature music from Clean Bandit, Jess Glynne, Pete Tong, Myles Smith, Nina Nesbitt, James, Krept & Konan and Rag’n’Bone Man.

“I have seen first-hand how amazingly dedicated and talented our athletes are. This Homecoming event will be a moment to recognise the achievements of these incredible athletes. I can’t wait to celebrate together!” said Kay.

Willis added:

“There’s a fantastic buzz during the Olympics, and Team GB’s Homecoming event will be the perfect way to celebrate and welcome home our phenomenal athletes. I’m super excited to be asked to host, along with Vernon. I have no doubt it’ll be a very fun and special evening.”

Produced by TBI Media it will be set against the backdrop of visuals from the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Taking place on Saturday 17 August and broadcast a day later, the event is described as a thank you to National Lottery players, as the National Lottery funds Team GB athletes.

The Executive Producers are Phil Critchlow and Anna Meadows. It was commissioned by Catherine Catton, Head of Commissioning, Factual Entertainment and Events and the Commissioning Editor for the BBC is Michael Jochnowitz.
