BBC Studios has signed development partnerships with award-winning comedians and writers, Diane Morgan and Nick Mohammed.
Bolton-born Morgan is best known for her characters, Philomena Cunk, as well as writing and directing Mandy, which is now in its third series. She’s also appeared in Motherland and After Life.

Mohammed, who hails from Leeds is a double Emmy-nominated actor and comedian. He plays Nate in Apple’s Ted Lasso; and wrote, exec produced and co-starred alongside David Schwimmer in Sky One’s Intelligence.
He’s just finished filming a regular role in Sally Wainright’s The Ballad of Renegade Nell for Disney+.
The partnership will mean BBC Studios will work with both Mohammed and Morgan to develop, co-produce and distribute new scripted projects.
“Last week I won a comedy award and someone on the internet made a pancake with my face on it. I thought it couldn’t get any better – but it just has! Thanks BBC Studios!” said Morgan.
Mohammed added:
“Genuinely so flattered to be partnering with BBC Studios and to be given the opportunity to work with some of the UK’s most exciting production companies. And just in general feeling very grateful to them for having such faith in my writing. Six ideas in six minutes – I can’t wait to get started!”
The partnerships were announced at BBC Studios’ annual Showcase event in London.
