BBC releases images from final series of Happy Valley

New pictures from the third, and final, series of Sally Wainwright’s Happy Valley, have been released this afternoon.

The 6-part drama, which started filming in Yorkshire at the turn of the year, sees Sarah Lancashire return as Sergeant Catherine Cawood.

Produced by Lookout Point for BBC One and BBC iPlayer, in co-production with AMC Networks, series 2 attracted an audience average of 9.3m on the BBC.

Appearing alongside Lancashire are James Norton as Tommy Lee Royce and Siobhan Finneran as Cawood’s sister. It will also see the return of Ishia Bennison as Joyce, Shane Zaza as Shaf, Chord Melodic as Sledge and Mete Dursun as Gorkem.

It was commissioned by Piers Wenger, former Director of BBC Drama and is directed by Patrick Harkins, Sally Wainwright and Fergus O’Brien, with Jessica Taylor as producer.

Happy Valley will premiere on the BBC, while in the US and Canada, AMC Networks will be its exclusive home.
