BBC Radio Leeds has unveiled two new programmes to complete its weekday evening line-up.
In Backstage, on Wednesdays, Nicole Raymond will showcase performers and artists bringing their talents to West Yorkshire as well as reflecting culture and trends from social media.
Raymond, also known as DJ Nik Nak, is a regular turntablist at venues across the country and has supported legends like Grandmaster Flash and performed at festivals alongside Loyle Carner and Mercury Music Prize winner Sampha.
The Friday Night Project will set the mood for the weekend as DJ Rav Basra brings live mixing sessions to Friday nights on BBC Radio Leeds along with classic tunes.
Sanjiv Buttoo, Editor of BBC Radio Leeds, said: “Another two shows and even more variety for listeners as we complete our weekday evening programme line up.
“Backstage will bring our audience an arts show with a difference, while The Friday Project will herald some great anthems and live studio mixing. All our evening shows complement each other and Radio Leeds in the evenings is now the place to go for specialist music and content.
“As a station, we’re developing new presenters and new formats which is really exciting.”
Backstage will launch on Wednesday 17th October between 7pm-10pm, while The Friday Project launches on Friday 19th October between 7pm-10pm.
