BBC Radio 5 live presenter Nicky Campbell missed his show this morning after being rushed to hospital in Salford last night.

The presenter was absent from his usual Breakfast show duties after being taken ill at home and admitted to Salford Royal Hospital.

Chris Warburton was called in as a late substitute for Campbell and presented this morning’s show alongside Rachel Burden.

Burden told listeners she had been in touch with her regular co-host and he was recovering well.
