BBC presenter salaries 2022/23: This year’s top earners

Lineker

The BBC has published its annual report, including the salaries of highest-paid presenters and celebrities for 2022/23.

The corporation’s two highest earners were once again former England football hero and Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker (£1,350,000-£1,354,999) and Radio 2 Breakfast Show host Zoe Ball (£980,000-£984,999), both largely unchanged from last year’s figures.

Ball and Lineker were by some way the corporation’s highest-earning talent, with Lineker’s Match of the Day co-host Alan Shearer (£445,000-£449,999), news anchor Huw Edwards ( £435,000-£439,999) and Ball’s fellow radio host Steven Nolan (£400,000-£404,999) some way behind, though hardly begging for scraps on wages of £400k+.

Among executives, director general Tim Davie, something a fixture in front of camera himself in recent months, was the highest rewarded with £525,000-£529,999, while the corporation’s executive committee wages ranged from £440,000-£444,999 for Charlotte Moore, chief content officer, down to £215,000-£219,999 for Gautam Rangarajan, group director, strategy and performance.
