The Board of Deputies of British Jews has called for a public apology from the BBC after it made “significant” changes to The Apprentice: You’re Fired.
The complaints relate to Asif Munaf and come following a series of posts he made on social media.
He’s been removed from tonight’s episode of You’re Fired!
“Following the Board of Deputies President’s urgent letter to the BBC Director-General Tim Davie and the BBC Chairman this morning, we have been notified that the BBC has significantly edited all content relating to BBC 2’s You’re Fired concerning Asif Munaf,” said the Board of Deputies of British Jews.
“We hope that the BBC will apologise publicly to the Jewish community for their handling of this sorry situation and send the people responsible for antisemitism awareness training.”
According to reports, Munaf was sent on an equalities training course by the broadcaster after it was made aware of the Tweets – these were raised after the series had ended. The BBC said that had they been known about them beforehand he wouldn’t have been part of the programme.
The BBC said today:
“We can confirm that the individual concerned will not feature as a guest on any additional upcoming BBC content relating to The Apprentice.”
The Sheffield entrepreneur behind a wellness brand, has previously appeared on BBC’s Dragon’s Den.
Munaf has responded on Twitter.
They can cut my scenes from the show but they cut my connection with Him.

The lobby tried to influence the regulator. They relented.
