BBC Sport has revealed details about how it will be covering the Euro 2020 competition.
It will be airing all 51 games across its platforms, with presentation carried out at MediaCityUK and UK stadia, rather than on location overseas, due to Covid-19.
“The past year has been very challenging for everyone, having to change the way we work and go about our daily lives. After patiently waiting, the first of this summer’s major sporting events is now on the horizon and the BBC is ready to deliver another memorable football tournament, making sure audiences are entertained from start to finish,” explained Barbara Slater, Director of BBC Sport.
“Three of our home nations are all in action on the BBC during the opening weekend, along with an array of the finest European talent on display throughout the Championship. All coverage will be brought to viewers and listeners by an unrivalled line up of the best presenters and experts who can offer that unique insight, analysis and entertainment.”
Gary Lineker, Gabby Logan, Eilidh Barbour and Mark Chapman will lead coverage across TV and Radio and will be joined by former England, Scotland and Wales players, including Alan Shearer, Rio Ferdinand, Alex Scott, Micah Richards, Ashley Williams, Mark Hughes, Shelley Kerr and James McFadden
There will be international representation from former winners, Thierry Henry, Cesc Fabregas and Jurgen Klinsmann.
In addition to live coverage of the matches, BBC Radio 5 Live will have a Daily Euros podcast; there will be a Euros-themed Match of the Day: Top 10; and Peter Crouch, Tom Fordyce and Chris Stark return to BBC Sounds with That Peter Crouch Euros Podcast.
Ahead of the Championship on May 29th, a special film will look at on one of the likely stars of the Euros: Cristiano Ronaldo: Impossible To Ignore.
The BBC will be trialling Ultra HD and HDR quality on the BBC iPlayer, with live matches available to viewers with compatible TVs and a high-speed internet connection.
