BBC One’s new landmark World War II drama World on Fire will have its northern premiere at Manchester Cathedral on Wednesday 25 September.
The epic series by multi-award-winning Manchester writer Peter Bowker (The A Word, Marvellous) follows the first year of World War II through the fates of ordinary people from Britain, Poland, France, Germany and the United States.
The series was partly filmed in Manchester and now local people are being given the chance to see the first episode before it airs on BBC One.
World on Fire features Academy Award-winner Helen Hunt (As Good As It Gets), Academy Award-nominated Lesley Manville (Mum), Sean Bean (Game of Thrones), Blake Harrison (The Inbetweeners) and Yrsa Daley-Ward (White Colour Black).
Harrison and Daley-Ward will be among those in attendance at Manchester Cathedral and, along with writer Peter Bowker, will take part in a Q&A hosted by BBC Breakfast presenter Naga Munchetty after the screening.
