BBC Children’s announces raft of new shows and recommissions

MediaCityUK-based BBC Children’s has announced a host of brand new programming across CBeebies, CBBC and BBC iPlayer for young audiences and their families alike.

From dramas to musicals and animations to factual content, the BBC promises something for viewers of all ages to enjoy in the latest wave of confirmed shows.

Bursting with homegrown talent and produced across the UK, some of the top new programming to look forward to includes Style It Out, presented by Emma Willis, which will search for Britain’s next young stylist.

Hamza Yassin will front Ranger Hamzas Eco Quest Minis to show how even small tasks can make a difference to the environment we live in, while animation Big Lizard, which sees a young girl befriend a sixteen-fingered lizard in space and a new Science-based gameshow called Get Set Galactic, aimed at aspiring young scientists.

Director of BBC Children’s and Education, Patricia Hidalgo said: “Our latest commissions, full of homegrown talent and shot across the UK, continue to offer our audience a real breadth of high quality entertaining and educational content that only the BBC can deliver. With beautiful animations, unique gameshows, factual content, enthralling dramas and even a musical or two, there is a real feast for kids families to enjoy.”

BBC Childrens has also recommissioned more than 10 shows as part of its latest programming announcement, including favourites like Malory Towers on CBBC and Tiny Wonders on CBeebies.
