Bauer Media is to buy Finnish commercial radio business Radio Nova from broadcaster MTV, part of the Bonnier Group.
Bauer will also assume responsibility for the sales and marketing operations of commercial stations NRJ and Nostalgia from MTV.
The acquisition marks the latest expansion into Europe for Bauer, adding to operations it already has in Poland, Germany, Slovakia and Scandinavia.
Bauer Media announced the acquisition of SBS Discovery Radio from Discovery Communications in July, which saw Bauer acquire a group that included the leading commercial radio operator in Sweden and Denmark.
“Bauer Media is the leading operator in commercial radio business in Europe and adding Nova to our portfolio will further strengthen our position in the Nordic countries”, said Leena Puntila, MD at Bauer Media in Finland.
