Dee Ford is to stand down as group managing director at Bauer Media Audio UK in order to spend more time with her husband and family.
Ford began her illustrious radio career some 35 years ago, working on the sales team at Liverpool’s Radio City, which became a part of the Bauer network during the radio giant’s takeover of Emap’s radio properties in 2007-8.
Under Dee’s passionate and expert leadership, the UK business has grown to become the scaled and high performing organisation that it is today with national and local services across all four nations of the UK. Dee has also played important roles in Bauer Audio’s global expansion, into the Nordics and Ireland in particular.
Richard Dawkins, president of Audio, Bauer Media Group, said: “The UK business is in great shape, with a healthy and growing radio portfolio, and solid digital foundations in place to enable us to deliver on the exciting opportunities ahead in digital audio over the coming years.
“I will miss Dee’s wise counsel, optimism and entrepreneurship, but am pleased to confirm that Dee will stay with us to ensure a smooth and extensive handover to her successor once they are appointed. And there will be plenty of opportunity to wish Dee well for the future later in the year.”
Bauer Media Audio is now recruiting for a successor who will take responsibility for a portfolio including household names like Absolute Radio, KISS and Magic.
