Bauer Media has confirmed that it’s completed the acquisition of Imagine Radio from Like Media.
The Greater Manchester and Derbyshire station will join its Hits Radio network and rebrand as Greatest Hits Radio from September 1st.
Imagine owns 2 FM licenses and listeners in Stockport and surrounding areas will get Greatest Hits Radio (Greater Manchester and the North West), with a regional afternoon show, hosted by Debbie Mac.
Those in Buxton and the Derbyshire Dales will hear Greatest Hits Radio (Derbyshire), with the regional afternoon show presented by Andy Goulding.
“Greatest Hits Radio is fast becoming one of the UK’s most loved radio networks providing local connections that we know our listeners highly value, along with our team of legendary broadcasters and a hugely popular classic hit format,” said Graham Bryce, Group Managing Director for the Hits Radio Brand Network.
“We’re so pleased to be able to bring the station to even more of our listeners in Greatest Manchester and Derbyshire, expanding access to the station across all broadcast platforms and ensuring a seamless experience whilst on the move.”
The stations will continue to get local news and traffic bulletins.
The acquisition will extend Greatest Hit Radio’s reach by an extra 470k people.
