Barclays has been hit by a serious IT outage on tax deadline day and payday for millions.
At the moment its App, Branches and Online Banking are all suffering errors and customers are unable to use its messaging or telephone system.
It’s warning people that its online systems are having “intermittent errors.”

There are reports that it has caused some customers problems with cards and cash machines, plus paying their tax, the deadline for which is tonight.
Earlier today, HMRC said that millions of people have still not filed their online self-assessment returns, which could mean a £100 fine.
However, Myrtle Lloyd, HMRC’s Customer Services Director said:
“Customers’ reasons for not paying their tax bill or arranging a payment plan by the deadline will be considered individually.”
So far there’s not been any explanation as to what’s caused the problems, only that it’s “working hard to fix the issue.”
Barclays’ “global Technology Command Centre” is in Cheshire. The Grade II-listed Radbroke Hall near Knutsford, is the home of its technology and operations across retail and business banking, including apps and AI.
The bank says on the website that “if issues occur which impact customers or colleagues, the Command Centre is where our technology specialists work to ensure service is restored as quickly as possible.”
The office also serves as the base of its Cyber Fraud Fusion Centre, a dedicated space for specialists from its Chief Security Office and Fraud team “to analyse data and intelligence with threats and issues with the potential to put our customers at risk.”
Barclays has been based at the 64 acre site since 1972, with 4000 staff working out of the offices.
At close of play on Friday, it was still experiencing problems with: Barclays App, Branches, Message Us, Online Banking, Payments & Transfers and Telephone Banking.
