Jamie Bown has been promoted to head of marketing at JD Sports for UK, Europe and APAC.
Bown started at the Bury-based online retailer eight years ago as a sales assistant on the shop floor.
He’s since held a number of roles within the company as well as a spell as senior marketing manager at Footasylum, which was subsequently acquired by JD Sports in an £80million deal.
His new role puts Bown in charge of marketing across 18 territories.
Last month, JD Sports revealed that its half-year revenue had surged by 47% year on year to £2.7bn, driven by a 10% jump in like-for-like sales across the UK and Ireland stores.
