AO has acquired the assets of A1 Comms Limited, which went into administration earlier this month.
It has paid £2.2m in cash for its intellectual property rights and its websites affordablemobiles.co.uk and buymobiles.net (and Samsung url mobileshop.com).
AO stated that this was part of the expansion of its “mobile proposition” and the transaction would provide AO with “expertise and synergies that will accelerate this ambition.”
73 jobs have been saved as a result.
A1 had gross assets of £41.6m, the majority of which included contract assets and stock which are not being acquired as part of the deal.
Based in Derbyshire since 1997, A1 Comms appointed David Kemp and Richard Hunt of administrators, SFP on 2nd February.
