Alzheimer’s Society, the UK’s leading dementia charity, is launching a powerful new campaign to shed light on the hidden realities of dementia – the health and social care crisis of our time.
The charity has created Behind Closed Doors, an interactive installation which allows visitors to see, hear and share their real-life experiences of dementia. The exhibition includes examples of the hard-hitting phone calls received by Alzheimer’s Society’s Support Line every day, voiced by a host of famous name supporters.
The installation will be in St Ann’s Square, Manchester on Saturday, October 5 from 8am – 5pm. Behind Closed Doors is a fully accessible event, free and open to the public.
Anyone can add their voice and experiences at the installation or alzheimers.org.uk/stories so Alzheimer’s Society can bring dementia out from behind closed doors and make it the political priority it needs to be.
