Integrated marketing agency Conker Communications is celebrating 15 years in business.
In its anniversary year, Conker has doubled down on its focus sectors, with client wins and key campaigns that underscore the agency’s reputation in both its sports and lifestyle specialisms and its B2B business bedrock.
Account wins in the lifestyle space include EMD UK, the national governing body for group exercise, including a campaign to promote This Girl Can Classes aimed at breaking down barriers to help get women into exercise classes.
Conker has also netted the integrated marketing brief for the 2023 Wheelchair Rugby European Championship, which will take place at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.
Conker says that these sporting wins come thanks to its past success in the field, including CIM’s Best Use of PR for Conker’s campaign for the Netball World Cup 2019.
Sarah Wallwork launched Conker in 2007 as a bedroom enterprise, and it has since expanded into a 14-strong team with an international client portfolio, and central Didsbury offices. A key milestone on the Manchester marketing agency’s journey is Martin Wallwork joining the team as joint managing director in 2015.
Bringing board level experience from disruptive businesses in the utilities and energy sectors, Wallwork has led the development of Conker’s hard-working digital arm, bringing his energy sector experience as a springboard for developing long-term full marketing service relationships with the likes of Tata Chemicals Europe.
Wallwork commented: ‘’As we’ve expanded we’ve stayed true to Conker’s focus on quality. For years this meant steady growth, but we’re now reaching an exciting tipping point where we’re able to capture the ‘Conker magic’. Developing the team has been a real focus over the last 12 months, and this year alone we’ve expanded by 50 per cent in terms of headcount. Our collective brainpower adds real value for our clients, and we continually invest in our team’s development, ultimately making Conker a great place to work.
“I’m absolutely delighted that Conker is standing strong, growing and flourishing after 15 years.’’
