PR and communications agency Citypress has landed the account to handle a leading global tyre manufacturer’s UK social media and consumer PR briefs.
Continental, which is based in Germany, appointed Manchester-based Citypress after a competitive pitch.
Its social brief will be led by the agency’s Social Director Renee Flanagan, while the PR brief is led by Associate Director Fiona Carmichael. Social activity will include creative content, management, influencer marketing and strategic planning, and PR will focus on brand building.
Citypress was ranked as number 1 in Prolific North’s Top 50 PR Agencies ranking last year, and works with brands like Aldi, Lloyds Bank, and Molson Coors. The selection process leading to Citypress’s appointment was managed by The GO! Network.
Approaching its 150th anniversary, Continental is the official tyre partner of the England Senior Women’s Football Team, headline sponsor of the Continental Tyres League Cup, and a founding partner of electric SUV all-terrain race Extreme E. Recently it appointed Mediaworks to transform its digital footprint and help raise brand awareness.
Pete Robb, Marketing Director for Continental Tyres in the UK, said: “With a fully integrated approach to PR and social – and some fantastic creative input right from outset – Citypress was an obvious choice.
“We were also impressed by the team’s enthusiasm and energy for the brief, as well as their relevant experience and expertise.”
Martin Currie, MD of Citypress, added: “Our job is to disrupt the conventional purchasing journey and drive brand preference. This will include activity to educate the brand’s core audience around its superior performance, reliability and sustainability. The team is raring to go!”
