Independent media agency Space & Time has appointed former managing partner Chris Jones to the role of managing director.
The move sees Sandy Gil, the previous managing director, become chief operating officer while the agency’s founder Peter Jones continues as chairman. The changes take place with immediate effect.
As managing director, Jones will be responsible for strategic and commercial growth, and will lead the roll-out of the agency’s new positioning.
He will be supported by a newly formed executive team that has worked alongside Jones for several years.
Jones had previously built and run Space & Time’s media business in London before being appointed as managing partner in 2018.
The agency, Which has a Manchester office in Salford Quays, said the changes to the leadership team are designed to “elevate the agency’s new proposition”, which has been developed by Jones and the wider team.
The new offering is centred around four business divisions of media, technology, performance creative and training.
Jones said: “The announcement of our strategy and a new business model to boot is an incredibly exciting one for Space & Time and I’m genuinely thrilled to be driving it. The truth is it’s been in the making for over 12 months and the leadership team has been instrumental in making it happen.
“The landscape is changing, particularly with the emergence of in-housing and hybrid models, and at Space & Time it’s never been good enough just to keep doing what we’ve always done. As a result, we are pioneering Full Experience, a unique and relevant proposition that will help brands unlock growth potential and business transformation.”
