adidas announces long-term Factory International partnership

adidas has announced a long-term partnership with Manchester’s Factory International, further cementing the city’s status as a global arts and culture destination.

As the official sportswear and streetwear partner, adidas is committed to fostering young creative talent in the city.

In a bid to nurture the next generation of creatives, adidas and Factory International are launching the Creator Network North programme. Following its successful London launch in 2022, the new Manchester-based initiative will offer valuable opportunities and work placements, equipping young talent in the North with the skills and experience needed to thrive in creative industries.

To kick off the partnership, adidas and Factory International will host a bespoke summer program filled with activations and events at Factory International’s home, Aviva Studios. The festivities will kick off with a major global skateboarding event on Saturday 27th July, featuring influential skaters, creative personalities, and networking opportunities for the local community.

Chris Walsh, VP of brand, adidas North Europe said: “adidas is thrilled to partner with Factory International, given its rich history in solidifying Manchester as a key destination for arts and culture. Through our Creator Network North program, we are committed to nurturing young creative talent in the city, providing them with valuable opportunities and experiences to thrive in the creative industries.

“This partnership, starting with an exciting summer program celebrating the Olympics and Paralympics, reflects our dedication to fostering innovation and creativity within the local community.”

John McGrath, artistic director and chief executive, Factory International, added: “At Factory International we’re deeply committed to creating opportunities for young people – from supporting emerging artists to skilling up the creative workforce of the future.

“We’re delighted to be working in partnership with adidas to create a series of initiatives that bring together culture and sport to inspire and empower the next generation. We look forward to seeing the outcomes of this partnership over the next three years.”
