The Yorkshire Academy of Film and Television Acting (YAFTA) has appointed W North to raise its profile.

It comes following the launch of new diploma courses, covering screenwriting, TV and film production, and screen acting.

Newcastle-based W North, will be raising brand awareness and promoting its head, Charlotte Armitage.

“W North are the perfect partner to help assist us with our next stage of growth. I’m thrilled with the reputation YAFTA is building in industry circles, but the time is now right to widen the awareness of what we achieve,” said Armitage.

“There are now so many ways to get into the industry to start making TV shows or films through the myriad platforms available, so we want to help those with ambitions in acting, screenwriting or TV and film production realise those without the need to give everything in their lives up in the process.”

The academy currently has 200 students and is hoping to double this over the next 18 months.

“YAFTA has a really exciting proposition. In Charlotte, it has someone at the helm who intrinsically understands the competitive nature of the film and television industry and so ensures all students at YAFTA completes its courses with a holistic and realistic view of the industry,” added head of W North, Christian Cerisola.
