£2billion turnover YPO appoints Brand Manager

YPO, one of the largest public sector buying organisations in the UK has appointed a new Brand Manager.

The newly created role will be held by Philippe Galland and will focus on enhancing creative brand strategies and elevating the YPO product range – which is recognised by its purple and yellow packaging.

“I am thrilled to be joining YPO, a well-respected product and procurement organisation, dedicated to supporting the education and public sector in today’s challenging landscape,” he said.

“I am looking forward to collaborating across teams and external stakeholders to enhance and expand the YPO brand, providing our customers top-quality, cost-effective products.“

The Wakefield based Yorkshire Purchasing Organisation is fully owned by 13 local government member authorities and has established formal relationships with further 71 organisations – known as associate member authorities – across local government and the wider public sector.

It has an annual turnover of £2bn, with a range including approximately 30k products and 100 public sector framework contracts.

“Philippe brings extensive marketing experience and a genuine passion for making a difference in the education space in this newly created role,” added Ashley Cartwright, Head of Trading at YPO.

“I look forward to collaborating closely with Philippe to build and shape the future of the YPO brand over the coming months – there are some great opportunities ahead that will further demonstrate the value of our own product range for customers. “

Born in France, Galland moved to the UK in the mid-90s to join Proctor & Gamble, helping expand the Old Spice brand in Eastern Europe. He’s since held a number of marketing and commercial roles at Masterfoods and Pentland Brands. He also developed the Eden Learning Brand.
