North East-based instantprint, the UK’s largest online printer, is celebrating 15 years in business with a look back at its humble beginnings and what its 15th year in business brings.
This year alone instantprint has invested more than £6m in state-of-the-art machinery for its factory, from purchasing a second Landa press to investing in a new Rollem Autopunch to improve business card cutting, and the factory fleet and team keeps growing as the firm increases capacity, offering customers faster turnarounds, improved quality and better pricing.
Instantprint also recently overhauled its website, launching new product pages. To help improve the user experience and make print buying easier, it has developed a Product Builder so that users can see exactly how their print will turn out as they make selections, leaving no room for surprises on delivery.
In the spirit of celebrating 15 years in print, instantprint hosted its first Open Day in July, with a second one on August 29th due to unprecedented demand. More than 60 businesses have made their way to the premises in Manvers where they enjoyed business talks by industry experts, a tour of instantprint’s state-of-the-art factory and a complementary networking breakfast and lunch.
When instantprint was founded back in 2009, directors Adam Carnell and James Kinsella had no idea just how far the business would go. Starting with a simple goal in mind and recognising that creating print should be easier for small businesses, they made it their mantra and it’s still at the heart of everything they do today.
Both founders are invested in helping like-minded business reach their goals. From their Small Business Hub to hiring Account Managers to take care of customer accounts, their investment into instantprint has helped over a million small businesses boost their brand with print over the years. With over 5m small businesses in the UK, that’s around one in five choosing to print with instantprint.
The founders said: “Celebrating our 15th anniversary is such an exciting time for us here at instantprint. We both think back to when we first started out with just two members of staff in a tiny office in Newcastle. Now, we’re the UK’s largest online printer, fulfilling thousands of jobs each day. It’s such a monumental milestone for us and we couldn’t be prouder of our team and of course, our customers who have helped get us to this point. We can’t wait to share what the future holds for instantprint.”
