10 more fringe events announced for Digital City Festival week

In case you haven’t been keeping up with the Digital City Festival website, there are loads of exciting new fringe events taking place between March 9th and 13th. 

Digital City Festival is a week-long celebration of business excellence and innovation across a number of sectors, including tech, marketing, media, eCommerce and more. 

Taking place in Manchester, the week will be spearheaded by the free-to-attend Digital City Expo, where attendees will meet exhibiting companies such as boohoo, Mobica, N Brown Group amongst many others, and hear from speakers from the likes of AO.com, BBC, Dept, the Co-op, and Google.

Outside of Digital City Expo, which will be at Manchester Central Convention Complex on Wednesday 11th and Thursday 12th of March, there are dozens of fringe events throughout the week, as well as the Digital City Awards, the Leaders’ Reception, and the After Party.

Here are 10 of the new fringe events that will be taking place throughout the week:

Boss Women III

Boss Women events will be celebrating International Women’s Day at the decadent Manchester Hall Hotel with canapés, mocktails, and laughter. They have five diverse speakers each sharing how they followed their passion, their honest journey to achieving.

The five speakers include leading celebrity make-up artist and academy owner Cassie Lomas, Channel 4’s secret teach Kate Stewart, BBC’s Criminal Justice: Are We Tough Enough? Presenter Ayesha Nayyar, successful swimmer Jessica Calderbank, and Editor and social media professional Angie Cropper.

The BBC Tech Meetup is delighted to announce it’s coming to Media City for the Digital City Festival 2020. The meetup aims to provide a free event where attendees can hear from industry heavyweights, BBC staff and radical thinkers, on the subject of all things tech.
