Reporting to the managing director and supporting the leadership team, it’s the business development manager’s job to make sure that the agency continues to build and maintain a strong pipeline of relevant qualified leads for new clients and work with our marketing function to ensure a joined up approach .
The role will include filtering and nurturing in-bound leads (we turn away more than we go for) but crucially also actively finding new opportunities with the right type and size of business. Managing our CRM system is vital and good knowledge of social media channels such as Linkedin and Twitter is definitely helpful.
This is no hard selling job though. The Smoking Gun way is much more consultative as we are looking to build long term relationships not Tinder moments! We have an envious reputation and many accolades to our name to help open doors.
The BDM will lead a weekly team sales meeting and produce detailed and insightful monthly reports for the Board.
The job will carry specific KPIs to be agreed in line with personal experience and the business plan.
Previous experience in a similar role is vital – c 3 years probably with the ability to demonstrate an understanding of the process of selling and be target driven.
