Myerson’s office
Ashley Reynolds, head of marketing at Myerson Solicitors, explained the rationale behind the space…
“At Myerson, the firm has invested more than £3m to develop the office to a one-site fully refurbished Grade A 20,000 square foot office in central Altrincham. We are extremely proud of our culture, creativity, enthusiasm and team spirit, and it is never quite the same virtually.
“Working from home can have its advantages, realising the benefits of separating work from home helps me feel better generally, therefore Myerson continue to implement hybrid working across the firm whilst offering employees a variety of workspaces to our people”.
Where is it?
Myerson Solicitors LLP, Grosvenor House, 20 Barrington Road, Altrincham, Cheshire, WA14 1HB
How big is it?
Grosvenor House has three floors that accommodate every business services department, such as HR, Marketing, IT and Admin, as well as our business, private client, and wealth management legal departments.
The workspace has many facilities, including a video-editing suite, individual team kitchens, private work nooks, a garden with tables for spring and summer, and spacious conference rooms. A popular facility that many employees use is the social room, which takes up a significant portion of the top floor. The social room is equipped with table football, ping pong tables, comfy sofas, a PlayStation, and on occasion, there will be socials either firm-wide or for departments.
Carl Newton, Myerson’s CEO and the board, recognised the importance of a work-life balance, so they wanted to create an environment that recognised and rewarded employees hard work.
What happens there?
Myerson is a full-service law firm with both business and personal departments. The office at Grosvenor House is a hub for most internal work, with individuals still enjoying the benefits of a hybrid work model. Myerson’s confidential meeting rooms are frequently used to meet with clients to discuss sensitive matters face-to-face. Myerson understand that clients may want to discuss their issues in person, so having private rooms for such meetings was crucial when moving to the new office space.
Each department has its own section in the building, with interconnected teams, such as commercial property and residential property, sitting closely together. All teams regularly socialise making use of the social room to support team collaboration and innovation.
What sort of work goes on?
As a full-service law firm, Myerson Solicitors undertakes a range of legal work for both private and business clients. Some of our business and personal services include:

Additionally, Myerson has sector teams that work on legal issues relating to agriculture, technology, manufacturing, hospitality and leisure etc, providing its clients with specific and cross departmental legal advice.
Myerson is recognised as a Top 200 UK Law Firm by The Lawyer as well as winning many prestigious awards such as Law Firm of the year at The Manchester Legal Awards and recognised by The Times Best Law Firms in 2019 and 2023.
Why is the workplace appropriate?
Whilst the Myerson team are well equipped to work from home alongside the latest technology and IT equipment, the general feeling between teams is that creativity, motivation and social effects of the office bring a good balance to the working week.
Often areas of law overlap, and ensuring a matter is handled to produce the best possible outcome for the client often requires team collaboration from various areas of law. The open floor plans and team kitchens with communal areas allow our fee-earners to discuss matters with one another efficiently. The client rooms are another area that makes the Myerson office propitious, as providing quality work to clients often involves building solid relationships whilst understanding the end goal of the client working alongside various areas of the practice.
Finally, the social room allows the Myerson team to relax, socialise, and have fun together, which is imperative for employee wellness. The team’s hard work is frequently repaid with social events and benefits, such as the Myerson staff BBQ held at the Grosvenor House office each year.
Who works there?
As of 2023, Myerson currently has 140 employees that work at their Altrincham-based office including 25 Partners. The staff are split between legal and business service departments. Myerson has a large marketing team for a law firm that focuses on PR and digital strategy. In 2022, Myerson took on their first Solicitor Apprentices, Jess and Alexia.
The progressive apprenticeship scheme gives individuals an alternative route to becoming qualified solicitors other than attending university. The apprenticeship scheme runs for six years, in which the apprentice will sit in each department before they qualify. At Myerson, the apprentices will take seats in both business services and legal departments, as they believe it is important for the apprentices to understand the operations of a law firm.
