The SEO industry has become convoluted, as experts and agencies seek points of difference to push strategies that often aren’t backed by the data.
Roar Ambition is growing quickly because when it comes to SEO, we still stick to the basics. What I was doing at home on my own in my bedroom 10 years ago isn’t that different to what we’re doing now as a company.
The main difference is that the quality has improved and having the team on board allows us to increase the volume. Of course, it’s a lot more organised. Your number one focus should be on high-quality, well-written content that is broken down and easy to read. Longer articles tend to rank better.
To dominate the SERPS, volume is the key. And depending on how competitive your market is; you’re going to need hundreds or thousands of high-quality articles.
If you don’t have an SEO specialist, then tell your writers to write naturally. An inexperienced writer that claims they are an SEO writer could get you into a lot of trouble. Best to play it safe.
If you haven’t chosen your domain yet then choose one that is very general. Even though you may only be working in one niche at the moment, you don’t want to be limited by your domain name or limit its value in the future. The more general, the more ways you can take the website as it develops.
When it comes to link building, quality over quantity is more important than ever. Be creative, reach out to authority websites in your market and ask them what kind of content you can create for them to get a link back.
It’s time to go back to basics and focus on building an audience around great content. Ultimately, an audience that buys into what you do is easier to monetise.
