The person that has inspired my working career the most, and why?
The person that has inspired me most in my working career is my manager Em. Em is the studio and partnerships manager at MattB Customs and also a graduate of The Juice Academy herself. Completing her Content Creator apprenticeship in 2022, Em has gone on to further her career and be involved in some huge projects for MBC alongside working with brands such as Netflix, JD, Paramount and Adidas. I hope to one day be as successful as Em in my role at MBC and keep progressing further as she has.
The place that has inspired my working career the most, and why?
In 2016 I went on a family holiday across America visiting New York, Boston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and San Francisco. The whole time I was there, I couldn’t stop taking photos of everyone and everything – I wanted to create the perfect Instagram highlight to look back on. From then on, I had a fascination with creating an aesthetic Instagram with enticing highlights that I could scroll through like a digital diary. My mum and dad proposed the idea of taking my fascination and making a career out of it – something I didn’t even know could be done. After some research, I came across The Juice Academy who made me realise it was possible to put my creativity to use on a bigger scale!
The thing that has inspired my working career the most, and why?
When lockdown hit in 2020 I, like many, spent my time online shopping and scrolling through various social media platforms. From this I realised sneaker culture was slowly on the rise and silhouettes such as Jordan 1’s and Dunks were becoming wildly popular. I bought my first pair of Jordan 1 Mids as lockdown began to lift and I couldn’t wait to wear them out and about. I discovered sneaker culture as a whole and spent time watching YouTube videos of people visiting sneaker stores across America. When The Juice Academy presented me with an opportunity to interview for MattB Customs, I couldn’t believe my luck as I was about to combine my love for trainers with my love for content creation!
