JD Sports Fashion PLC in Bury has appointed Karen Monks in a newly created role of PR and communications manager for the group.
Monks is the former director of PR at Bird Consultancy, where she was based for almost 18 years.
She will be working alongside its marketing team and human resources department on both internal and external communications for the group, which includes JD, Size?, Scotts, Blacks and Millets.
“It’s an exciting time to be joining JD, the company continues to expand across the UK and Europe and there’s a passionate team of talented people behind it to support the growth,” she said.
Earlier this year, company announced that it had exceeded a £100m annual profit for the first time, with a 25% increase in turnover year-on-year.
