Manchester-based The If Agency has appointed Ed King as its new group account director.

King previously spent 11 years at TBWA Manchester, and three years at BJL prior to that. His new role will see him lead on account client servicing and strategy as well as internal team development, with his key clients including Spirit Pub Company, Hewden Plant Hire and The Co-operative Bank.

King said: “I’m delighted to be joining If. It is an ambitious, up and coming agency with an impressive array of clients and a genuinely talented team. I’m looking forward to playing my part in what I’m sure will be an exciting future for us all.”

Christian James, managing director of The If Agency, added: “Ed is a great addition to The If clan. He brings a lot of complementary skills but also some new ones which will be great for our clients and our agency team.”

Among the clients picked up by the agency over the last year are The Co-operative, Paddy Power, Hewden and Knowsley Safari Park.
