Roger Mosey has been appointed to fill this new position. He has worked in various BBC operations including news, sport and most recently television.

Salmon’s new enhanced appointment will see him taking on a more active role across all the English regions, not just the North, as he endeavours to replicate the successes he has achieved in Manchester,’extending and strengthening’ the BBC’s relationship with partners and audiences across other English regions.

The first two cities he will start building new bridges in will be Birmingham and Bristol.

“Creating long-term relationships with local partners and more meaningful relationships with the audience is a vital part of bringing the BBC into both communities and the local economy.”
