Based in Manchester, Billy Baron is a social editor apprentice at LADbible Group.
He’s currently working on one of LADBible’s websites called UNILAD, sourcing and finding content for the platform’s Facebook page.
As part of National Apprenticeship Week, we’ve teamed up with The Juice Academy and Apprentify to showcase some of the North’s apprentices working across the digital, media and creative sectors.
Here, Baron shares his top three influences with us.
The person that has inspired me the most, and why
The person who has been the biggest influence in my apprenticeship journey so far has to be Sam Easton, my line manager. He came through The Juice Academy on the same scheme as me. To know that I am learning, and being guided by someone who has succeeded and progressed since he finished the scheme I am on, is very influential. In the first few months of my apprenticeship so far, he has helped me learn, grow and settle into the workplace and is someone who has definitely influenced me on my journey.
The place that has inspired me the most, and why
The place that has inspired me on my journey is Manchester and similar cities. I love the city lifestyle and working in Manchester was always a dream of mine since I was young. To have the opportunity to work here is amazing and, hopefully, I can continue to grow and make it permanent.
The thing that has inspired my working career the most, and why
The thing that has inspired me is a major interest in many different types of media since I was young such as TV, film and social media, and by watching videos and seeing the latest news through socials. Looking at how creative and interesting the jobs are, I wanted to land a job in this industry as I very much enjoyed it when I took media studies at school. It was definitely something I wanted to progress into. If you’re looking for some inspiration for your next career move, check out our dedicated jobs hub here.
