TBWAMCR wins long-term campaign role with limbless veterans charity

Limbless veterans charity Blesma has appointed TBWA\MCR as its creative agency following a four-way competitive pitch.

The agency has been brought in to create a long-term campaign platform for legacy giving, initially through TV, with the goal of inspiring action including legacy giving and sparking conversations about leaving a lasting impact.

Blesma, formerlyBlesma, formerly the British Limbless Ex-Servicemen’s Association, is dedicated to supporting current and former service personnel who have experienced limb loss or impairment. It is based in Chelmsford and has nine nationwide regional support officers who provide personalised welfare guidance and support, addressing needs ranging from benefits to social isolation through home visits.

Fergus McCallum, TBWA\MCR CEO, said: “The more we learnt about Blesma and the amazing work they do, the more we wanted to help them tell their story. We’re delighted that they bought into our disruptive approach and we’re excited about helping them on their future journey.”

Tony Bloomfield, operations director of Blesma, added: “Quite simply, TBWA\MCR were head and shoulders above the other agencies who pitched. We saw some great responses but TBWA\MCR stood out with a solid strategy which really understood the challenges we face. It was a very insightful pitch and we’re looking forward to producing a bold and brilliant campaign with them.”

The first TV campaign is due to launch just before Summer 2024.
