The trailer has been released for a new drama set on the Yorkshire coastline.
Boat Story has been written by Harry and Jack Williams and is produced by All3Media’s Two Brothers in association with All3Media International.
The thriller, with a “darkly comic heart” is about 2 ordinary people, whom the world has turned its back on, and “whether they’re willing – or desperate enough – to do something crazy to get what they want in life.”
It stars Daisy Haggard (Back to Life, Breeders) and Paterson Joseph (Vigil, Noughts & Crosses) in the lead roles, alongside Tchéky Karyo (Baptiste, The Missing), Joanna Scanlan (After Love, Notes on A Scandal), Craig Fairbrass (One Piece, Villain and Muscle) and Phil Daniels (Quadrophenia, House of the Dragon).
Boat Story was filmed in Yorkshire and will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the UK and will later be available on Amazon Freevee in the US and Germany.
The trailer features Janet (Haggard) and Samuel (Joseph) who encounter a haul of illegal drugs found on a shipwrecked boat. The pair can’t believe their luck as they agree to sell it and split the cash. But quickly find themselves entangled with police, hitmen, and a sharp suited gangster known as ‘The Tailor’ (Tcheky Karyo – Baptiste, The Missing).
